Plot

Commercial success

The film has broken many box office records, including the highest-grossing worldwide opening of all time and the highest grossing film in North America (ahead of Avatar). It has generated a global box office revenue of over $1.5 billion, becoming the highest grossing film in the franchise, the second highest released in 2015, and the fourth highest of all time without inflation adjustment.

Me & Star Wars

This was by far the most anticipated movie of 2015 for me. I am a big Star Wars fan and it's actualy my second-favorite movie franchise (after Harry Potter Series, of course). I fell in love with the series when The Phantom Menace came to theaters back in May of 1999. Soonafter, a family frend got me the full original trilogy on the VHS for my 7th birthday and the rest is history...

Review

Hard core Star Wars fans and movie fans in general should be more than satisfied with the 7th instalment of this sci-fi space opera. It has the same structure as the first Star Wars movie ever - Star Wars: A New Hope. The wibe of this movie is very similar to the original trilogy, but this is what fans wanted.

Chemistry between our heros is nothing less than perfect, humor works realy well, CGI is well made (the only exception is with the character of   Maz Kanata) and you do find yourself invested in the story and what is going on with our new and old heroes.

Many people would say that Star Wars is finally back and is by far the best Star Wars movie since 1983 (when the last instalment of the original trilogy was released). It is in no means the best movie ever, but it is what it should be - a new well-made chapter of pop-culture phenomenon. A spectacular hi-tech popcorn movie experience what we've expected from this movie to be.

My Thoughts

I really freakin' enjoyed this movie. So far I have seen it twice in theaters. I can't yet say that I LOVE this movie, but after I'll see it few more times I'm sure that I WILL love it.

Now, that being said, I would've loved if they didn't just released a new part of "old trilogy". Don't get me wrong, I do love old movies (and the new one), but this seems to be a cheap move just to satisfied fans. There's not many new things (starships, planets, weapons... etc.) in this movie. Movie doesn't experiment with anything, it follows a formula. A formula for making money and it is working (until this day, thr movie made more than $1.557 billion on a budget of $200 million).

My rating of the movie:

8/10 Stars (for now)
